High Desert: High Desert is located east of Tramway Blvd between Spain Blvd and Academy Blvd. This is where my mother resides in her retirement years. She shares the community with other polished retirees, active executives, and some of the area's most well-to-do peoples. It is considered one of the most shi-shi areas of the city where you can have newer construction yet be in a very convenient northeast location on the foothills of the great Sandia Mountains (which also means VIEWS!). The homeowner's association includes landscaping of medians and pathways, security patrols, enforcement of covenants, and maintenance of the gorgeous park. The master plan of High Desert incorporated wilderness intermixed with the residences crowned by nature hiking and biking trails at the base of the Sandias. Homes here range from the $300s to roughly $3 million.
