Albuquerque NM Real Estate | Home Sales and Listings | | | | Sean, Christine, and little Taylor Remington
Our background, by Sean Remington I believe the old saying that people buy from people. My background before launching my own business in real estate was in sales for Hyatt Resorts - a popular hotel chain. I loved my career... but something had to change after Christine & I had our daughter, Taylor. Both working professionals trying to make ends meet to provide for our newly formed family, we learned that my extensive travel schedule was simply not going to work anymore. We prayed for a solution... My Aunt Louise in upstate New York had dropped it in my ear on a few occassions that she believed I belonged in real estate. Being a top producing agent herself, her words encouraged me. So I threw everything to the wind. I left Hyatt. Many told me that they felt I was doing the wrong thing by leaving such a great position for such a young "kid" my age. Christine & I took out a small business loan to help me get through real estate school and get started. Being the most supportive wife a man could ever ask for, she continued working to support the family. While working feverishly to build my pipeline we ran out of funds. The mortgage was behind, and our cars were going to be repossessed any day. We scraped bottom... Living on our prayers, we were provided for just in the nick of time! Just then, my first transaction materialized - allowing us to get caught up and continue living by the seat of our pants. I earned the "2005 Rookie of the Year" award from the Albuquerque Metropolitan Board of Realtors(r) and am extremely proud to announce that no agent in the history of Albuquerque real estate has ever sold more property than I in their first year in business!!! I believe the dedication put forth coupled with Christine & I's committment to operating with high integrity caused our business to explode. Today, we are excited to report that we are regarded as among of the area's most well-known names in Albuquerque real estate. Our credentials include being one of Albuquerque's "Elite 25" top luxury property experts, a Certified Residential Specialist, Accredited Buyer Representative, and we hold various leadership positions with the Albuquerque Metropolitan Board of Realtors(r). With Taylor's recent start of school, Christine is now working full-time alongside me in our business and we have been abundantly blessed to attract some of the industry's most seasoned professionals to our team. Check out our "About Our Team" pages to learn more! Despite that we have achieved incredible accomplishments - the most important asset in a real estate agent is to have an ethical individual whom you connect with, trust, and who is still thirsty enough to really work hard for you. We would love the opportunity to interview for the job - please send us an email or call eithe one of us directly on our mobile phones (Christine/505-977-2004 or myself/505-307-4006). 1/8/2010: Hello friends, family, and strangers who visit our site! And HAPPY NEW 2010 YEAR!!! We just wanted to take a quick minute to say hello, wish you all well, tell you a little bit about how our 2010 is kicking off, and inform you of some exciting new changes to our site that are in place or coming soon - and to remind you that there are indeed real people behind this complex-looking technological site! In our personal lives, we added a new member to our family - Hilton the puppydoggie. Santa discovered him at a shelter and he really needed a home, so he delivered him just before the holiday to Taylor. We understand that he is six years old (just like Taylor!), and has had two previous owners. He has definitely found his last one with us! Hilton is very mellow; in fact we joke calling him our puppycat since he is content to lay around and sleep all day long just like our kittykats Frances and Zorra do. Although, as shown in one of the above images, they have not adjusted to him quite yet. He has really taken to us though - in fact he flips out when he sees one of us leave the house. We have learned that it is best to distract him - like have Christine keep him in another room while Sean escapes - then he doesn't even realize anything is different. Since Hilton hates to be alone and let's face it - the Remington's are pushovers for animals, we take him to the office with us each day after dropping Taylor off for school. Thank God our office is so dog-friendly! In other news, Sean has taken up a lot of new fitness initiatives! Presently, he is biking on Saturday mornings with a new cycling group he joined, taking Parisi class (Incredible! Email us if you are curious what this is and/or want a free 3-day trial!), and training to partake in the Phoenix Rock & Roll half-marathon on January 17th. Once that is over, he begins official running training with a coach. Let's see if a full marathon is on the horizon in the future!... Taylor continues to grow and develop more and more friends in the first grade. In fact, tonight will be her VERY FIRST sleepover ever! Her little buddy Isabella is spending the night. We will post some photos up of these little cuties on Facebook in the next few days! Due to an increase in volume (THANK YOU!), Christine is now licensed and shifting her role from an administrative behind the scenes to working on the front line of our business. She has done a fantastic job in the recent months helping various clients buy and sell. In addition, Christine is layering some yoga classes into her weekly regimin! We are also unrolling some major changes to our website, www.NMHomesOnline.com. First, we have enhanced the overall look of the site. Second, and what you will see, we are experimenting with NOT having visitors register on the site every time they look at our listings. We have been wanting to try this for years, but our web provider didn't offer this as an option. We are hoping that / our thought process is that if visitors find the site useful that they will choose to email us and ask for help. We'll see how this goes... The next big change that you will see which is in process now is having a chat widget on the site. This will allow us to reach out to people on the site while they are visiting to see how we can be of service in a very comfortable, service-oriented approach. Once that is complete, we will be moving into integrating video onto the site. We hope that you - our audience - receives these enhancements well and enjoys them! As we move into this new year and new decade, we wish all of you health, prosperity, and happiness! If you or anyone you know needs professional help to buy or sell a property, please keep us in the forefront of your thoughts and get in touch! Warm regards, Sean & Christine Remington
Best Wishes for 2008 from the Remington Family! Isn’t it hard to believe that it’s already 2008!? While 2007 had its outstanding moments, in general our family is excited and looking forward to starting fresh with a new year. Our most incredible milestone achieved in 2007 was making it a must to take a luxurious, extended family vacation to the island of Kauai, Hawai’i in March. The time spent there has burned unforgettable and cherished lifetime memories in our minds. Taylor still talks about it and is pressing us to make a sequel visit, while Sean and Christine have decided that Kauai is where we will eventually retire. This was by far the best trip we have ever taken and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to escape to a tranquil, non-commercialized island of beautiful gardens and simplicity. Other travels this year took us to Palm Springs (California), various explorations around New Mexico, the charming mountain town of Durango (Colorado), and most recently a jam packed trip to visit friends and family in the chilly northeast (New York and Massachusetts). The highlight of these trips was visiting Taylor’s cousins Tristan (8) and new baby Tyler (8 months). Tristan is a really delightful, social little boy whose been nicknamed as the Mayor of his elementary school because of his popularity. While dining at a restaurant, he even ran into friends at a neighboring table! Tyler was busy soaking the world in while offering cheerful and hearty giggles to anyone who volunteered to play peek-a-boo with him. Christine and her best friend since childhood, Michelle, made a girls’ escape through the Caribbean in August. Being the silly girls that they are, their time was not spent resting & relaxing – sipping margaritas and absorbing novels while perfecting their tans as Sean had envisioned… While some of the trip included this, the girls returned home exhausted from staying up daily until the wee hours laughing together and catching up on one another’s lives not wanting to miss a beat. What should we do with these girls? Taylor hasn’t ceased to amaze us as she continues to develop. Kids say the darndest things at times, don’t they!? Taylor aged her protective parents a few years in early summer when she announced that the 4 year old neighbor Dominic was her… boyfriend! The words “but I love him” were what caused the time-stopping, jaw-dropping moment. Then a few days after her 4th birthday, she began asking for a baby brother or sister. “You guys are always so busy and I need a friend to play with” she explained. We’ll have to table that thought for another year or so, stay tuned. Perhaps it’s about time to put her into a bubble for the next 20 years! Our smart little sweetheart; she’s growing up too fast! To keep her mind off of things, we continued swimming lessons, music classes, dance, gymnastics, and started toddler science classes at the local children’s museum. Curious George, arts & crafts, 100 piece puzzles and memory match games are her favorite pastimes. Hopefully these will keep her mind occupied for awhile. Professionally, our real estate business continues to thrive. As we grow, we decided that we should address some long-term business needs. Sean decided upon a strategic move to Prudential Sandia Real Estate. In comparison, the new affiliation offers us state-of-the-art, in town office space, increased marketing opportunities, an incredibly family-like atmosphere, and Sean has been asked to teach classes to help new agents. The opportunity to give back to the real estate community is very exciting for him! Additionally, a local magazine named Sean the “Best Real Estate Agent in the city” for 2007 and he also made the local “Elite 25” group of agents representing Albuquerque’s Top Luxury Home specialists! It is because of the incredible loyalty from you – our friends and family – that our business continues to be blessed despite a more challenging market climate. Thank you so very much!!! On a personal level, our trials and tribulations have been rough. We helped Sean’s father out by letting him move into our home during the first half of the year while he figured out his next steps in life. Fortunately he has landed on his feet back in Seattle where he is now working as a consultant in the technology field. Opening our home to Sean’s father caused tension between Sean and his mother which consequently has left them on vacation from one another since mid June. Can’t we all just get along!? The volume dial of challenges increased when we learned that a once trusted acquaintance with ill intentions has affected the lives of a few of our closest friends and family. We are still suffering through the aftermath of this. Please pray for us! Looking forward, our goals for 2008 include: serving God in a greater capacity, getting Taylor accepted to a prestigious new charter school for fall enrollment, taking another wonderful family vacation, maintaining and growing the business despite our personal hurdles, and of course, overcoming these hurdles. We will have lots of positive updates for you throughout 2008! We wish you and your family lots of peace, love, and joy this next year. And as always, we would LOVE to hear from you anytime to see how everything in your world is going. Stay in touch! Until next time, take care and may God Bless you and your family. With Love, Sean, Christine & Taylor Remington | | | | Our Family - Thanksgiving 2007
11/2007: HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Just a quick message to wish you and your family a blessed holiday. What a wonderful time I had with my family today! There's so much for all of us to be thankful for! I woke up with a cold but made the best of it. I relaxed in bed with soup and began reading a wonderful book. It's been too long since I've done that - what a great intellectual buzz it gave me! As many of you know from knowing me, Christine and I are extremely blessed by having her parents living just five houses away. Taylor had a sleepover with Grandma and ended up staying there the greater part of the day while I rested. Thankful? You bet we are! Since I was a bit under the weather, we decided to spare the cooking and cleaning by going to a restaurant. We had the waitress snap a quick shot of us, shown above. In local news if you are not here now, it just started snowing! The forecast shows that we will receive around 3 inches by the morning and are one of the only states in the US with snow already. And I thought I lived in a desert! How unusual. I wish I could write longer, but mainly want to express our gratitude to all of you for being fans of our website, and to wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving!!! | | | | Sean, Christine & Taylor in Kaua'i
3/2007: ALOHA! Ahhh, Spring at last! The uncharacteristically cold New Mexico winter was wearing on us – we are thrilled to be moving into a much warmer season. Just before Thanksgiving, Christine, Taylor and I had our yard landscaped. At last the weather is comfortable enough to enjoy this added space to our home! We even put in a small lawn area for Taylor to run around and play on. Last Saturday I taught her how to throw a Frisbee on the lawn and ever since she constantly asks me in her innocent little voice “Daddy can we play Frisbee?” Time with our girls is therapeutic and proving to be the most meaningful events in our life… Which leads right into our exciting recent news... My New Year’s resolution was very specific: to take our girls on a one-week family vacation to an exotic destination. After all, I nailed so many incredible professional milestones in 2006 which the entire family took sacrifices for. I felt it was due time we recharge ourselves with some quality, uninterrupted time together; so we went to the island of Kaua’i in Hawaii March 7th – 15th! Incredible, healing, memorable, and unforgettable are the first adjectives that come to mind. While most of our time was spent either on the beach or at the pools, we also attended a luau, explored the island, and spent countless hours laughing together as a family. My favorite memories were how silly Taylor was at the beach. When we first walked the shore, she instinctively and shamelessly peeled off her clothes and ran to the shoreline. She would inquisitively watch the waves crash, and each time the surf reached and soaked her feet she would heartily giggle as she ran up the beach and out of the water. Taylor never got tired of this timeless game and continued challenging the great ocean. At just three-and-a-half, Taylor has developed the most wonderful personality ever. She’s the most considerate, hilarious, kindest-hearted, and intelligent little girl Christine and I could have ever been blessed with; a true gift. Ironically, this little child is inadvertently teaching us some of the most important things in life that would have easily passed us by without her. She regularly reminds us to take breaks to come play with her, makes us laugh, and is constantly giving us so much love. Thanks to Taylor we vibrantly and passionately live every day. With our team of girls including the most joyous daughter coupled with the most supportive wife a guy could have (and of course our three crazy cats), I think it’s fair to say I am a rich man and for this I am sooo grateful. Professionally, we have continued to achieve new and wonderful accomplishments. Locally, we were selected as an “Elite 25” Realtor® - meaning we are one of the area’s top selling agents of luxury properties! Regionally, our growing real estate team was awarded with the 5th top producing team in New Mexico at our firm! Nationally, we achieved “Platinum Club” level again this year – placing us amongst the highest producing real estate professionals with our national brand! All of this success is totally due to the wonderful support from you, our friends and family. Please continue to get in touch if you or anyone you know is interested in buying or selling in the greater Albuquerque area. Thank you! While the warm weather settles in and stimulates your senses, please also keep in mind our message. Life is so wonderful if we choose for it to be and recognize the many hidden treasures it bestows upon us. I sincerely hope this Spring season presents abundant joy, healing, and whatever your meaning of success is upon you and yours! 12/10/06: What a wonderful party last night! I met John and Anita at one of our open house events almost two years ago. We stayed in touch and I ended up selling a home for them. As our friendship grew, they referred us to their daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Ken, whom we helped sell their home and purchase a new one just two months ago (where this picture is taken). Christine and I had a blast! It is the greatest feeling ever to become like part of the family to this very wonderful family! The greatest reward we could possibly ask for is to grow lasting relationships like these. THANK YOU John, Anita, Pam, and Ken, and God Bless and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all! | | | | Sean receives "Platinum Club" Award with wife Christine
4/23/06 - What a trip! Christine & I recently attended our real estate firm's convention in "fabulous" Las Vegas, Nevada. To our surprise, I was awarded with the prestigious "Platinum Club" award, unheard of for agents to receive for their first year in business! The placard reads: "Membership in the Platinum Club is one of the highest single year commission honors that is bestowed upon a Sales Associate. We congratulate you on your outstanding achievement which places you among the top professionals in the real estate industry. Best wishes for your continued success. -Dave & Gail Liniger" we are truly blessed with the most loyal clientele which was the vehicle to take us to such an outstanding milestone in our career. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! | | | | Sean & Taylor give Zorra a bath after she returned home.

3/26/06: Christine & I keep our cats, Zorra & Lupe, inside because we worry about a coyote inviting them over for lunch as the main course. Well, Zorra was a bad kitty. Yesterday she somehow escaped our home. Today, when we were on our way back in the house, she came prancing in like nothing had ever happened. God only knows where she had been - she was filthy! Taylor & I are seen here (above picture) bathing her after her naughty little journey. In the second picture, her sister Lupe is following her around wondering why she smells like lavender. Zorra was so embarassed. Let's hope this will teach her not to go out all night again! Don't leave such important decisions in the hands of just any real estate agent.
